INVESTING IN THE FUTURE YOU
INSURANCE / FEES FOR SERVICE
ACCEPTED INSURANCE
I am currently contracted with United Healthcare, Humana, Aetna, AvMed, and any insurance company under the Optum umbrella. Your cost per session will depend on your plan rates and your individual copay decided by your plan.
Don't see your insurance company listed? If your plan includes "out of network benefits", I can provide proof of payment which you can then submit to your insurance company to go toward your deductible or anything else your plan will allow.
OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS
Individual sessions are $140 per hour and $200 for 90 minutes.

PERSONAL INVESTMENT
PERKS OF PRIVATE PAY
Justification of treatment is required for reimbursement of services. This involves submitting personal mental health information to the insurance company via documentation. Paying out of pocket ensures that the only person to view your therapy records is your therapist and you (should you choose to request a copy).

Insurance companies can dictate the therapy process by deciding not to cover a session (kickback) just because you or your symptoms are improving. Insurance requires treatment to be justified, and just because you are feeling a little better does not mean that you no longer need support. Some diagnoses are not covered by insurance, causing benefits to be denied just because you do not fit what they think is worth reimbursing. For more information, call your insurance provider and ask about what is covered.

If your plan or benefits change, will you have to find a new therapist? This is a frequently occurring issue after having built a therapeutic relationship. If your therapist is not contracted with your new insurance provider or type of plan, this can become frustrating as you find someone new and start from scratch. When you choose someone based on fit, instead of whether they are contracted with your insurance plan, you may have better continuity of care. And finally, just because someone takes your insurance does not mean they are the best person to help you with your unique set of challenges. Paying more for specialized and targeted care will save you money in the long run, as you will not waste time with someone who can only bring you half-way there.
